New digs in downtown Raleigh.

This project started with the intent of adding home automation to a condominium. Yet, as things progressed, we began to help the client—Ryan, a forty-year-old bachelor and successful entrepreneur—envision how we might further evolve his home to be more suited to his tastes.

Having built trust (get it?) with the client, we undertook the challenge of finding artistic ways to bring Ryan’s style to life. We installed flooring on the ceiling. We used fabric on the walls. We hired local craftsmen to make a custom staircase and bespoke guitar mounts.

Ten months after the initial agreement, BoCo Modern had transformed the space. The floors, doors, and stairs were entirely redone. The master bath and closet were merged into a single, naturally-lit space, with handpicked fixtures and a modern walk-in shower. An office and guest bathroom with freestanding bathtub were also part of the project. We even selected wallpaper and furniture, including outdoor seating and handmade poufs—a BoCo Modern favorite.

According to Ryan, we didn’t just change his space—we changed his life. (Ryan has since enlisted BoCo Modern for a renovation of his kitchen. Details to follow.)

How can we innovate your space?
